Terms of service.

Thank you for considering Tend Mental Health for your therapy services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”). Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our services.

Scope of Services

Tend Mental Health offers a range of therapeutic services for children, youth and adults, including individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Our services are provided by licensed mental health professionals who are trained to help individuals improve their mental health and well-being.

Eligibility

To be eligible to use our services, you must be at least 18 years of age or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian. If you are under 18 years of age, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use our services.

Confidentiality

We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal and medical information. We will not disclose any information about you or your treatment without your written consent, unless required by law.

Fees and Payment

Our fees for services are based on the type and length of treatment. Standard fees for a 50 minute consultation with a psychologist is $240. NDIS clients are charged the equivalent of 1.25 hours for a 60 minute consultation to reflect the time taken in preparation, care team liaising and treatment planning. Payment is due at the time of service, and is processed using the payment details set up at the time of booking or at your first appointment. If you have insurance, we will bill your insurance company for covered services. Please be aware that you are responsible for any co-payments, deductibles, or other out-of-pocket expenses not covered by your insurance. Payments for other therapeutic services vary (e.g., supervision, counselling, coaching). Transaction costs for electronic payments are comparable to bank EFTPOS terminal and transaction charges at 1.9%,  we only charge half of this to the client (e.g, $2.28 at the time of payment).

Missed / Late Cancellation of Appointments

Clients are informed of the Cancellation policy at the time of booking and acknowledge the need to pay a late cancellation fee. Clients will receive a text message 24 hours prior to their appointment which also reminds them of their appointment. If for some reason you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please allow a minimum of 48 business hours’ notice (i.e., email admin@tendmentalhealth.com.au prior to 9.00 am two business days before your appointment, otherwise you will incur a fee. Cancellation fees will be calculated at 75% of regular session fee (100% of regular session fee for appointments cancelled within 24 business hours or no-show appointments). New Clients: A credit card capture is required to secure your booking, however no charges will processed until your appointment. NDIS Clients - Late cancellation fees are charged at 100% as per NDIS guidelines. See Cancellation policy for more details.

If a client is late for an appointment, their session may be less than 50 minutes in duration. Please note the full session fee is still required to be paid in these circumstances, however your Medicare rebate (if any) may be reduced.

Termination of Services

You are free to terminate our services at any time. We reserve the right to terminate services if we determine that our services are not appropriate for your needs, or if you fail to follow our treatment recommendations.

Our services are not a substitute for medical treatment and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition. We make no guarantees or warranties about the effectiveness of our services.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws in Victoria, Australia, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.

By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand these Terms of Service and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use our services.
